1. How do I find an inmate at Jefferson County Jail?
Use the online inmate search or call 303-271-5444. Inmates under 18 are not searchable with the lookup tool.
2. How do I post bail?
There are three ways to post bond:
- Credit card: There is a Touchpay kiosk in jail lobby. Or call toll free at 1-866-232-1899. Or pay online with touchpaydirect.com. The suite ID is 280401. This is available 24 hours / 7 days a week.
- Cash: Cashier’s check or cash.
- Surety Bond through a bail bondsman.
There is a $10 filing fee for each bond, and a $30 booking fee
3. How do I contact an inmate?
Inmates cannot receive incoming calls. Call Securus Family & Friends at 800-844-6591 in order to receive calls. All calls, except for attorney / client privileged conversation, are monitored. There is a 15 minute limit on calls.
4. What are visiting hours?
Onsite visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance using the video terminal in Detention Services Division or the Securus website. Each inmate is allowed one, two, or three 20 minute visits per week depending on their housing unit. The visiting week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday. Visiting times are 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 1:10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Remote visitation using Securus is allowed from 8:10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
5. How do I put money on the books?
There are four ways to put money in an inmate’s cash account at Jefferson County Jail:
- Online: Touchpaydirect is the jail’s approved online vendor. Site ID is 280401.
- Phone: Call 866-232-1899 and pay with a credit card. Use site ID 280401.
- In person: Come to the jail at 200 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden and use cash or credit card at the lobby kiosk. People can also bring a U.S. Postal Service money order or certified check to give to on-duty lobby staff.
- Mail: U.S. Postal, or International Postal money orders or certified checks may be mailed to inmates at:

Inmate accounts are used for medical co-pays, booking fees, garnishments, and commissary items, such as snacks, cards or games. The money is applied to any outstanding fees before the inmate may buy commissary items.

All incoming mail is opened and inspected. Books may be sent from a publisher or distributor. Inmates may have four books at a time.
Restricted mail items are:
- Illegal gang materials
- Envelopes larger than legal size, 8 by 14 inches
- Stickers, stamps, envelopes, blank paper, laminated plastic, newspaper / magazine clippings, musical cards, cards larger than 8 by 11 inches
- Sexually explicit photos
- An excess of three pictures, or photos larger than 4 by 6 inches
- Polaroid pictures
- Any book or magazine
