The Regional Justice Center (commonly abbreviated the “RJC”) is Clark County’s primary courthouse. Located in downtown Las Vegas at 200 Lewis Avenue, the RJC houses the following two courts:
The RJC hears all the criminal and personal injury cases arising out of Clark County. The building is open on weekdays from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

1. What is the Regional Justice Center?
The RJC is a large structure in downtown Las Vegas that houses two different courts:
- Las Vegas Justice Court, and
- Clark County District Court (also called the Eighth Judicial District Court)
Las Vegas Justice Court
Las Vegas Justice Court handles all misdemeanor and traffic cases allegedly occurring within Las Vegas but outside the incorporated city limits. It also hears all felony cases in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Justice Court includes Small Claims Court, which hears personal injury cases involving $10,000 or less worth of damages.
Clark County District Court
Clark County District Court hears felony or gross misdemeanor cases that do not resolve in Las Vegas Justice Court. It also hears personal injury cases involving more than $15,000 worth of damages.
2. Where is the RJC?
The RJC is located just across the street from the Clark County Detention Center at 200 Lewis Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
The RJC’s top floors and the lower level hold the District Court courtrooms. The middle floors have the Justice Courtrooms.
3. How do I contact the RJC?

Las Vegas Justice Court

4. When is the RJC open?
The RJC is open Monday through Friday. Doors open at 7:15 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. However, the various clerk windows close as early as 4:00 p.m. depending on the court:
Las Vegas Justice Court
Las Vegas Justice Court is open on Mondays through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The clerk’s office is located on the second level of the RJC.
Clark County District Court
Clark County District Court is open from Mondays through Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The clerk’s office is located on the third level of the RJC.

6. How do I bail someone out?
RJC bail procedures depend on which court the case is in:
Las Vegas Justice Court
To post bail for someone in custody for a case in Las Vegas Justice Court, go to the Clark County Detention Center, located across from the RJC at 330 South Casino Center Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89155. Call (702) 671-3285 for more information.
The window is open twenty-four hours, and bail may be paid in the following ways:
- Cash (exact change and paid in full up to $10,000)
- Visa or Mastercard up to $10,000
- Cashier’s check payable to “Las Vegas Justice Court”
- Money order payable to “Las Vegas Justice Court”

Clark County District Court
Bail procedures for an inmate incarcerated for a case in District Court vary depending on the time of day. During business hours, bail may be posted at the RJC, located at 200 Lewis Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101. They accept payment by cashier’s check or money order payable to the “Clerk of the Court.”
After business hours, bail may be posted at the Clark County Detention Center, located at 330 South Casino Center Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89101. For more information, call Pre-trial Services at (702) 455-3462.
7. What is the dress code?
Security will turn away people who wear revealing clothes or clothes with profane language or imagery. Hats and sunglasses may not be worn in any courtroom. Note that people may not chew gum or use cell phones in court.
8. Are there public defenders?
Private counsel is always recommended, but criminal defendants who cannot afford it are eligible for representation by the Clark County Public Defender. The court clerk will give application forms to defendants to request a court-appointed attorney.
There are no public defenders in personal injury cases, but litigants may contact Legal Aid of Southern Nevada for help.
9. Are there interpreters?
It is an RJC policy to provide a translator for every criminal defendant who needs one. However, it is always recommended defendants call the court ahead of time to make sure an interpreter is available for their court date.
10. Where do I park?
Metered parking is available in lots along 3rd Street and Clark. Jurors can get their parking validated.
